
There are many variations of french dressers, than the often thought about french provincial styles. One clue in the difference is that the wood is heavier in older Louis styles, or Napoleon chests. Take a look at the pictures in this post, the wood is much more chunky and it is solid wood through out. It is just a different design than the 1950's French dressers. There isn't a French dresser that isn't beautiful. Many of the painted looks can be reproduced with a bit of paint and a dark glaze to give it that old antique feel. (Read More.....)
